kenlee25 9 years ago #5. From what I heard, each companion specializes into a certain type. You can't just have all of your warriors as reavers for example. I believe they did this to further specialize the companions. If you notice, their are 9 companions and 9 specialization classes. Weapon types are free to be switched out and specced however. The DW Assassin is a great class if used in the right order and if you have the right perks. Ive played as a DW Assassin for my majority of my playthrough and I belive it is the most rewarding and most balanced class other than a 2H Reaver. Templar + Rift Mage combo should help mitigating damage from enemy quiet a bit (they can CC, dispel hostile spell, weakened enemies.) Tempest is probably your best bet for Rogue on Nightmare, they got CC, damage resistance, haste, and ability to use skills without cost.
